Haerizadeh’s pictures come across as dream-like visions of a fantastical world populated by outlandish beings. In ‘Wonders of Creatures’, an apparent fascination with symmetry dictates the seemingly simplistic design of the pictures. Haerizadeh uses elements of traditional Persian architecture to build up images infused with an extraordinary sense of spirituality and beauty. On another level, his work tackles notions of perception by engaging photorealism with a striking twist on reality that is oddly amusing and takes bizarre humour as its starting point.
